What to expect

Your American National Bank accounts and services will move to comparable Associated Bank products and services later this year. We’ll provide specific information about your new accounts and services in advance of the transition, including how to access your accounts digitally. For now, please continue to do your banking as usual.

The only action we’re requesting is that you confirm or update your contact information with American National Bank so you receive all the important updates about the transition. To do so, log in to American National Bank online or mobile banking, visit your local branch or reach out to your relationship manager.

Yes, your local branches and the teams who know you—your bankers, branch staff and relationship managers—will continue to support you, delivering the same convenient, dependable and personalized service from local decision-makers who understand your community. ANB Co-CEO Wende Kotouc will join Associated Bank's Board of Directors, and Co-CEO and Co-Chairperson John Kotouc will remain in a consulting role.

When accounts and services are transitioned to Associated Bank later this year, current American National Bank locations will begin operating under the Associated Bank name. While we are now one organization, you’ll see “American National Bank, a division of Associated Bank, National Association” until the full transition is complete.

FDIC insurance coverage

American National Bank and Associated Bank are now one bank for the purposes of calculating limits on FDIC Insurance on deposits. FDIC Insurance covers up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category. However, the FDIC has a special rule that allows deposits in a customer’s accounts on the date two banks are combined to be separately insured – as if the two banks are still operating separately – for at least six months. This means if you have accounts at both American National Bank and Associated Bank, FDIC Insurance coverage of your deposits, up to the amount on deposit in your account on April 1, 2026, will remain separately insured through October 1, 2026, or possibly longer for certificates of deposit (CDs), depending on maturity date or if renewed. Separate FDIC Insurance coverage does not apply to increases to deposit balances after April 1, 2026.
